A Caribou Coffee is in the works in Kennesaw.

According to construction plans, the coffee shop is planned for 3280 Barrett Lakes Blvd NW at a space formerly occupied by a now-closed Burger King. The location is only a couple minutes from Kennesaw State University.

Construction documents show plans for a drive-thru at the 2,495-square-foot store. The plans label the new store as being a “chalet”-style location, as opposed to the smaller-format “cabin” stores that the company introduced in 2019 and debuted in Minnesota.

Caribou Coffee currently has six locations in Atlanta, including one at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The company was founded in Minnesota in 1992 and has since grown to hundreds of locations in the U.S. and internationally.

The company is currently looking for an assistant manager for the new location.
