The ‘new American restaurant’ coming soon to Colony Square.

Charlotte-based MAP Management, the restaurant group behind 5Church, has plans to bring the “new American restaurant” to Atlanta.

5Church will replace the now-shuttered Shout, at 1197 Peachtree Street NE, in the Midtown mall. Shout, a Here To Serve restaurant, closed its doors for good Dec. 23, 2014.

Expect items like herb-brined and roasted chicken, Maryland crab cakes, and crispy tofu.

The forthcoming Atlanta 5Church isn’t the only planned location for the restaurant. MAP will also open a Charleston outpost, at the corner of Market and East Bay Streets, early summer 2015, ahead of the Colony Square store.

MAP also operates Nan and Bryon’s restaurant in Charlotte, under the direction of partners Patrick Whalen, Ayman Kamel and Alejandro Torio.

Colony Square owner Tishman Speyer would not confirm or deny 5Church’s plans to open at the Midtown Mall in a telephone conversation Thursday.

5Church was not immediately available for comment.
