The hometown company and cult-classic, Chick-fil-A, which first opened under the name The Dwarf Grill in an Atlanta suburb way back in 1946, seeks to add a new location to the Atlanta area. A building permit application filed by Chick-fil-A for 2419 Cheshire Bridge Road shows the company has plans to convert the existing building into an eatery.
It looks like Chick-fil-A has had this location in mind for a while. And now the company has officially filed the paperwork. According to the permit, Chick-fil-A has plans to demolish part of the exterior building and a few other site elements, including a curb and gutters in the parking lot. As the building formerly housed a Regions Bank branch, it is already equipped with a drive-thru.
Chick-fil-A is the largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the U.S, according to the company’s website. Today, the company has well over 2,000 locations throughout the states and remains headquartered in Georgia. We don’t have word yet on when this new location will open, but when it does, those spicy chicken sandwiches will be just around the corner.
Let’s see, poor ingress/egress on a super busy street, sounds about right for CFA. In all seriousness, that building has been empty for years, glad something is going in….

There already is a Chick Fil A on Piedmont Road a mile away at Sidney Marcus. Why the hell do we need one in an area already saturated with Chick Fil A’s? How about something unique and original. Is that too much to ask for?
Unique and interesting is too much of a risk sometimes. I’m not a CFA fan, but that location will be plenty busy despite the location on Piedmont (& N Druid Hills/Briarcliff).
The “location” link directs to a post from Jan 2020. It states it’s primarily drive thru with walk up window and small patio, no dining room. Is that still the case July 2021?
The area needs a Cookout or maybe a Checkers much more than a CFA. We already have two CFAs nearby, on less hellish corners. Gosh this is going to be painful to get in or out of with the Cheshire Logjam traffic. Yikes. It’s why no businesses thrive in that area. If you are IN traffic, you don’t want to leave the road and then have to fight your way back in when you are done shopping.
But my biggest question is where will the driver of the white semi cab do with his truck? If you know that old Regions, you know the truck I’m talking about. The driver has used the parking lot as their own ever since before Regions closed. That’s over. Aww.

FWIWW, Wells Fargo looks ready to close down their location just down the road. It’s dead. Can’t get appointments there.
Gay Weekends Publix… new name? After RuPaul’s Weekends on Peachtree/10th was razed, they relocated to this building. Named Weekends Warehouse, it was an enormously packed gay dance emporium. And a precursor to The Jungle down the street. Why should only Krogers get pet names? Do you have a better name?
Ok, I meant the Publix behind this building. I’m sure Chik-fil-A will love having a gay nomenclature next door.
