A new coffee shop from experienced operators is brewing in Canton.

Stitch Coffee is planned for 135 Reinhardt College Parkway. It is expected to open next month.

The business comes from Dave and Geralyn Hickey, who operated a coffee shop in New Jersey called The Coffee Potter. They opened it in 2017, with the shop changing hands in 2022 ahead of the Hickeys’ move to Georgia. They said at the time that they looked forward to establishing “a Coffee Porter in the South very soon.”

Stitch Coffee LLC was created in July 2024, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.

According to the website, Stitch Coffee was “inspired by a love for people and community.” The name is a reference to Canton’s historical connection to denim and the cotton mill.

The shop is expected to have a large community table, additional café tables and bench seating, and a comfortable area with soft seating.
