Restaurant to replace Briza in Midtown.

Community Smith, the “protein-centric neighborhood restaurant” by Chef Micah Willix, in a press release Tuesday announced plans to open January 28.

The restaurant, at the corner of Abercrombie and West Peachtree Streets, is replacing Briza (Pacci before that) at the Midtown Renaissance Hotel.

The adjoining rooftop space, formerly Rooftop 866, will reopen as The Garden at Community Smith March 20.

The 147-seat dining room and 12-seat patio restaurant will boast a menu of items like Oxtail Toast, Beef Bavette, and Roasted Cauliflower.

Upstairs, The Garden is a 300-person max-capacity outdoor space with a beer garden-style communal seating and a rotating 20-tap beer program.

Both spaces were designed by Brooklyn-based firm crème and the brand’s identity was designed by Atlanta-based firm Green Olive Media, according to the release.

  • I noticed a lot of white subway tile on the interior. That seems to be a “must have” for any new restaurant.
