Cowtippers Steaks & Spirits is closing for good Thursday, December 27.

The news was announced on Cowtippers’ website.

“The sun is finally setting on the ‘ol cow,” according to the company’s website.

“We would like to thank you for the years of great memories.”

The restaurant, at 1600 Piedmont Ave NE, has been in business for 25 years.

It’s no surprise that Cowtippers is closing.

News of the imminent closing was first revealed in January.

At the time of the announcement, community support aided in extending the restaurant’s life through the end of 2018.

Rumors are circulating that the land has been sold and Chase Bank will build a new branch at the site.

Parent company Metrotainment Cafes did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.
