Massachusetts-based Crazy Dough’s is gearing up for rapid expansion throughout Georgia and beyond.

Georgia Franchising Group in late-2017 acquired the pizzeria franchise with plans to grow nationally, Adam DeWitt, the company’s director of marketing and community development, Monday told What Now Atlanta in an email.

The restaurant group, which also owns Purpose Snackery, will initially launch corporate stores and then add franchise partners, DeWitt said.

New Crazy Dough’s locations are underway in Atlanta and Sugar Hill.

Construction later this year will begin on an outpost in The Mark at Atlanta and a location in the eCenter at Sugar Hill is in permitting with the City.

The pizzerias will open late-October 2018 and early 2019 respectively.

Georgia’s first Crazy Dough’s, situated in The Mark at Athens, opened late-June, 2018.

The “slice bar” uses handmade dough and a fire-grill specializing in thin and Sicilian crusts.

Crazy Dough’s founders, and husband-and-wife Doug and Melissa Ferriman, remain the owners of the original Boston locations.
