Creative Cravings, a health-conscious restaurant that will serve vegan and vegetarian food, is planned for 3330 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Owner Mikal Mumin confirmed his plans with What Now Atlanta in a recent phone call.

Mumin’s concept will take over a restaurant space adjacent to a Texaco gas station, replacing former occupant American Hotdog.

Mumin said that despite a time-consuming permitting process, his restaurant should open by the end of June. While he is updating the interior, Mumin said the 1,032 square foot restaurant space was relatively move-in ready.

According to Mumin, Creative Cravings will add a new, healthy dining option to an area that has few similar restaurants.

His slogan is, “Nurture your mind, your body and your soul. Eat to live.”

The restaurant will also offer smoothies and dishes specifically geared towards halal diets.

Mumin said that he expects to pull business from the heavily-trafficked location at the junction of Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. and Interstate 285.

He added that local attractions should help bring customers, including Cascade Family Skating, the skating rink where scenes were shot for the movie “ATL” starring Atlanta rapper and actor T.I.
