Restaurant to replace Craft adjacent the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, in a press release Tuesday, announced that Del Frisco’s Grille will open its Buckhead location on Saturday, October 13.

Del Frisco’s will open in the space formerly occupied by Craft, at 3376 Peachtree Road NE, adjacent to the Mandarin Oriental hotel, formerly The Mansion on Peachtree.  Craft, owned by celebrity chef Tom Colicchio, shuttered in December, 2010.

“We are thrilled to open Del Frisco’s Grille in the heart of Buckhead,” Mark S. Mednansky, CEO of Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, said in the release.

“Atlanta is a vibrant city with a cutting-edge dining scene and we’re excited to welcome new guests with our genuine hospitality. This is a modern American bar and grill and truly the best place in town to come in with friends for a great glass of wine and a great steak or sip on a cold SweetWater and share some ahi tacos.”

Executive chef Mike Fuller, who has worked in Southern restaurants for nearly 30 years, will feature local favorites such as Brunswick shrimp and grits, Savannah blue crab toast, Anson Mills grit cakes and Dillwood Farms collard greens alongside new Del Frisco’s Grille classics that are easy to share with friends: wood oven-baked flatbreads, cheesesteak egg rolls and pimento cheese fritters, according to the release.

The menu will also feature selection of prime steaks, hearty salads, formidable sandwiches and chef-inspired entrees.

Designed by The Johnson Studio, a local Atlanta architecture firm, the restaurant’s architectural features include “industrial and warm elements,” according to the release.

A custom-designed chandelier that cascades from the second floor to the first floor (doubles as storage for glassware and liquor behind the bar) will be the focal point at Del Frisco’s.

Del Frisco’s will feature a “wine wall” of nearly 500 selections and will be open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
