Dish Dive is closing its Kirkwood doors for good next week, at 2233 College Ave NE. The restaurant — known for its BYOB service and its itty bitty dining room — announced the news on Social Media. Dish Dive will conclude its tenure with Valentine’s Day dinner.
“Dish Dive is heading for the hills,” a graphic posted to the restaurant’s Facebook page states. “Not much for long goodbyes — final service on Valentine’s Day.”
Restaurateur Jeff Myers was behind Dish Dive. The chef’s resume includes Top Flr and the Sound Table, and at one point, Myers was working on opening Smoke & Gravy at One Moreland. Myers first debuted Dish Dive to great fanfare in 2014. Among its quirks, guests had to text Myers for a reservation, and rarely could he be reached over the phone or online.
Dish Dive’s tiny quarters had seating for 25 with Myers helming the kitchen day in and day out. Amid the pandemic, Myers and the team started offering service on the front patio. Myers on Wednesday did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Bummer. That was such a great little spot that we could walk to.
It was like being at someone’s home for a dinner party.
