Dope Coffee is ramping up toward opening their first two cafe locations, both within stores operated by Savi Provisions. The first spot will open later this month in Azalea Fresh Market at 25 Peachtree St. Construction has been ongoing over the past several weeks, according to updates on Dope Coffee’s Instagram page.
The second location will be opening later within another Savi Provisions location at 2080 Campbellton Road. What Now Atlanta previously reported that Savi Provisions would be opening a location there in the second half of 2025.
Dope Coffee CEO Mike Loyd Jr. told What Now Atlanta that they formed the relationship with Savi Provisions through Invest Atlanta. They had been planning to open a cafe, and partnering with Savi Provisions — which already carried their retail products in stores — provided the opportunity they had been searching for. He believes both Azalea Fresh Market and the Dope Coffee cafe inside is “going to be a truly wonderful experience.”
Customers can expect a menu featuring cold brew, cold brew infusions and ready-to-drink cocktails. Drinks will feature housemade syrups like the Dope Coffee syrup, a coffee-infused simple syrup used to make their signature Dope Coffee Latte. Other syrups include their lavender-infused syrup, and their turmeric syrup, which is used to make their ATL Latte.
They are a fully vegan company, so expect to see housemade oat milks and dairy-free options on the menu.
In addition to cold brews, there will be hot espresso drinks, and all their drinks will have a blended cold drink option as well.
For Loyd and the Dope Coffee team, the spot in Downtown is ideal, especially as the World Cup approaches.
“We’re within walking distance to the stadium,” Loyd said. “So Dope Coffee is really excited to be just right in the center of Downtown.”
The addition of these two forthcoming locations comes as Dope Coffee tracks growth in the retail market as well. They have hit 1,500 stores nationwide and are still growing.
“We spent the last five years working on the retail side, so we’re as far north as New York, down to Georgia. We have operations in California, and then we have about 50 stores in the Upper Midwest — Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana,” Loyd said.
The brick-and-mortar locations will provide a new way for the Dope Coffee team to connect with the community. Loyd views Dope Coffee as a community-focused brand, committed to intertwining coffee, culture and music and using coffee as a unifier to spark conversation.
“Here’s our thesis: coffee brings people together. It makes us more intellectual. It makes us more social. So I’m looking forward to bringing to the community hip-hop shows inside of coffee shops, because hip-hop is a voice for the people, right?” Loyd said. “Anybody can participate in hip-hop. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, or your socioeconomic status, your religion or your race — none of that matters for you to be able to tell your story over a beat, and that’s intricate to Dope Coffee’s story.”
Hip-hop is a major aspect of the Dope Coffee brand, so Loyd envisions bringing live music shows, open mics, spoken word and more art forms to Dope Coffee cafes in the future.
“That’s one of the biggest things that I look forward to, is giving the community a platform to express themselves, and I think it has everything to do with what is going on in America and within our society, is that people don’t talk openly and frankly enough for us to know each other well,” Loyd said. “We’re here to bridge that gap.”
