Kelly and Kenny Keith, the owners of Kelly’s Cakes, are launching Bon Glaze, a bakery that will serve up made-from-scratch doughnuts, gourmet glazes and powdered sugars, and will feature “cups of bacon,” coffees and other bites.

The wife and husband team are opening not one but two Atlanta Bonglaze locations around the same time.

Plans Thursday were filed with City of Atlanta for the doughnut shop’s first outpost, at 3792 Roswell Road, in Powers Ferry Square.

A second location will take up shop, at 3757 Durden Drive, in the Brookleigh Market shopping center, according to the Bon Glaze website.

As for where the concept comes from, “we traveled the world for years tasting all sorts of doughnut concoctions from the simple to the complex, culinary-influenced works of art. What we realized is that there was a lack of a doughnut experience that let people flex their own creativity. So, Bon Glaze was born.”

The Keiths will continue to run Kelly’s Cakes, a speciality cake company that specializes in wedding cakes, operating out of the Bon Glaze stores.
