With a brick and mortar location at 575 Boulevard SE in Grant Park, Dulce Vegan Bakery hopes to celebrate their grand opening by the end of January 2010. Dulce Vegan will serve as Atlanta’s only vegan owned and operated 100% vegan bakery. The location? — An old church that is being renovated in sections.
Specializing in products that are “completely animal free and made with the finest organic unprocessed and non-hydrogenated ingredients to ensure that they are the tastiest sweets in Atlanta,” Dulce Vegan is sure to be a hit.
Some of the menu items will include scones and cupcakes as well as wedding cakes. In addition, Atlantan’s wanting a healthy, vegan alternative can ask Dulce Vegan to create something sweet for any special occasion.
To understand the location: the picture to the right shows the Dulce Vegan gate (from Boulevard) that leads to a downward staircase. At the bottom of the staircase are a garden and then the entrance to the bakery just after that. The exterior is very mysterious, but if you can find it, rest assured that healthy but tasty goodies await you inside.

Nice to see some adaptive reuse even in this economy. Very unique place indeed. They’d be wise to market to area hotels that might want to offer organic wedding cakes as part of their wedding packages.
