The forthcoming Figo Pasta to feed students and techies in the Flatiron.
The Shumacher Group has leased space for a seventh Figo Pasta location in Downtown Atlanta. The casual Italian restaurant will occupy a unit in the south-facing end of the historic Flatiron building at 74 Peachtree Street Northwest, which is currently undergoing a $12 million renovation.
Harold Shumacher, President of the Shumacher Group, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) that the abundance of activity and increasing appeal of the downtown neighborhood was a motivation behind Figo Pasta’s expansion into Downtown Atlanta.
“Georgia State University has played a big role in transforming the area,” Shumacher told WNA on Tuesday. Because the area is also a vibrant business district, this location will have more of a “daytime component,” including coffee service.
The Flatiron is Atlanta’s oldest skyscraper and has recently become the home of the second Microsoft Innovation Center in the country.
