Retailer continues to strengthen brick-and-mortar experience by featuring food/drink component.
As What Now Atlanta (WNA) first reported, Atlanta’s second Club Monaco store is in the works at Westside Provisions District.
Now, an advertisement in Food and Wine Magazine, shared by Eater Atlanta, reveals that the new outpost is planned to feature a cafe called “West Side Provisions Cafe.” The store will join Club Monaco locations in New York, Charleston, Washington DC and Montreal in executing the concept.
The new Charleston cafe, called Root + Spiller and currently slated to open in August, is being executed by Hugh Acheson. The concept will reportedly be similar to Acheson’s Spiller Park Coffee kiosk in Ponce City Market, offering “coffee and light bread-themed dishes.”
No word yet on who is behind the Atlanta cafe, but this post will be updated as more details become available.
The retail/cafe joint concept is one that has been increasing in popularity. In May, WNA reported that FluxMade, a local millwork and custom furniture shop also on the Westside, is adding a cafe component called Influx.
Influx will join Chrome Yellow and Henry and June, two other Atlanta boutiques which have a food/beverage component.
With online shopping on-the-rise, trendsetting international brands like Ralph Lauren and Gucci have sought to strengthen the brick-and-mortar experience by adding food and drink, with the goal of attracting more foot traffic and lengthening browsing time.
