A restaurant doing business as Blu Seafood Room has requested a conditional use liquor license with the city of Atlanta, sitting before the License Review Board on Nov. 17. This would be the first restaurant under this name and the original concept looks to be opening up in Suite 1 of 935 Marietta Street, the 935M Apartments.

The license requested entails the potential approval of liquor, beer, and wine to be consumed on the premises of this establishment within the premises. The applicant, Kechia Matadin, also appears to be the owner of Cirque Daiquiri Bar & Grill, which took over the Piebar space at 2160 Monroe Dr. NE in 2013, according to Atlanta Magazine. Matadin is also the owner of the clubs Island Breeze at 2818 Montgomery St and Frozen Paradise on 641 Indian St in Savannah — the latter of the two has since shut down. Its growth in popularity caught the attention of big-name artists to make appearances, like Lil Wayne, Beyoncé, Lil Kim, along with others before closing its doors.

Blu Seafood Room was registered on Jan 28 as a domestic limited liability company and it appears to be labeled as a full-service restaurant, serving seafood, much like the menu items at Cirque. No opening timeline has been revealed as of now.
