UPDATE (November 7, 2018): Gino’s East Poncey-Highland To Open Dec. 7 After Months of Delay
Chicago-based pizzeria Gino’s East is still planning on opening its first Atlanta location in Poncey-Highland.
But the ambitious mid-July timeline, announced in May, is far from reality.
Instead, the pizza joint, which is replacing Rize in the 675 N. Highland development, is now targeting a December debut, Marc Turner, managing director for developer Origin Investments, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in an email.
Gino’s East didn’t even secure its lease until May, according to Turner.
“The tenant has been waiting on various licenses/permits, and is completing the build-out.”
Origin Investments acquired the 125-unit property, at 675 North Highland Ave. N.E. and an adjacent land parcel, at the end of 2017.
The firm is currently developing the project’s second phase which will add 39 more units to the property, averaging 630 square feet each, and 8,000 square feet of commercial space.
“We are working on two leases to fill the entire commercial space,” Turner said.
“As soon as details can be made available, we will release them.”
