Grecian Gyro Thursday released more details surrounding its first location planned for inside the perimeter (ITP.)
It is replacing Blue Coast Burrito, at 1700 Northside Drive NW in the Berekely Heights shopping center, as first reported by What Now Atlanta earlier this year.
Grecian Gyro will open sometime this month, according to the announcement.
An exact opening date has not yet been set.
The Greek eatery’s new location is more than double the size of the original in Hapeville, which will allow for “expanded offerings and a greater capacity for catering.”
Its hours will be Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Izzy’s European Ice Kreme, a modern interpretation of the Greek version of ice cream, or pagató, as well as, a frozen Greek yogurt, will be carried at the Berekely Park location.
Other additions not seen at existing locations include Greek beer and wine, olive oil, feta, pasta, cookies, and chocolates.
“Founder Nick Koulouris opened the first Grecian Gyro in 1982 in Hapeville, Georgia with $50 in his pocket, a dream in his heart and his secret sauce recipe locked tightly in his head,” according to the release.
“Nick’s goal has always been to deliver the best gyros and Grecian fare, reminiscent of what he grew up eating in Kalamata, Greece.”
In 2007 and 2008, the company expanded with locations in Tucker and Forest Park, and in 2012 the company started franchising with a location in Johns Creek.
In 2013, Grecian Gyro opened a company-owned location in Dunwoody followed by another in Snellville in 2018.
Now under the direction of Nick’s sons George and Pano, the company has six locations.
