UPDATE (March 23, 2018): Forthcoming Beltline Margarita Bar Guac y Margys Launches Kickstarter
Guac y Margys, a new margarita bar concept, will open on the ground-level of Old Fourth Ward’s Residences at Studioplex in late May or early June of 2018, owner David Barton confirmed to What Now Atlanta over the weekend.
The Residences at Studioplex is a development of 19 luxury townhomes with about 31,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space at ground level.
The development sits directly on the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail near the popular entrance at the trail’s intersection with Irwin Street, about a block from Krog Street Market.
This section of the BeltLine, the Eastside Trail southern extension, was added in spring 2017.
Guac y Margys has dubbed itself “Atlanta’s Margarita Bar” and will focus on Mexican food and, of course, margaritas.
Several months before opening, Guac y Margys has a robust social media presence and an event planned for National Margarita Day on Feb. 22.
The space for the new restaurant is 1,290 square feet and has a budget of $110,000 for interior buildout.
It is owned by Barton with partners Sebastian Romano and Troy Meyers.
Awesome! ANOTHER Mexican/TexMex/MexMex/TexTex/whatthef*keverMex restaurant in this area! As if Mi Bario, Mezcalito’s, Superica, Agave, Tin Lizzy’s, Tacos and Teqiulas, El Bandito, El Mexicano, Patria Cocina (opening soon), El Ponce, Pure Taqueria, bartaco, and Taqueria Del Sol (under construction), aren’t enough? I’d suggest opening a pizza or burger place but Mix’d Up Burger, Farm Burger (opening soon), Grindhouse (under construction), East of Chicago, Grant Central, Savage Pizza, L5P Pizza, Varuni Napoli, Your Pie, Cabbage Pie, Edgewood Pizza, Ammazza (hopefully reopening soon) and Fellini’s probably wouldn’t appreciate it. It’s good to have choices. Just like going into the cereal isle in Disco-, Gay-, Ghetto-, or Murder-Kroger…
Hey, this is in the Old Fourth Ward, not Inman Park.
Billy, good looking out. We’ve corrected the neighborhood! ~ Caleb
