Aja’s last day in business was Sunday, Sept. 6.
Aja, an Asian-fusion restaurant in Buckhead, quietly shuttered over the weekend, parent company Atlanta-based Here to Serve Restaurants (H2SR) in a press release Tuesday announced.
“We view this decision as an opportunity to grow our core group of restaurants that are serving us well,” Leigh Catherall, CEO and co-founder at H2SR, said in the release.
“First and foremost, we will assure that our valued staff will be provided new homes within our company. We at Here To Serve are grateful for Aja’s loyal patronage and look forward to continuing to serve them at out other ten locations.”
Aja shuttered in the “interest of betterment and future expansion of the company,” according to the announcement.
The Asian-fusion eatery’s last day in business was Sunday, September 6. The restaurant, at 3500 Lenox Rd NE #100, originally replaced Emeril Lagasse’s restaurant, Emirl’s.
There have been several changes to H2SR since Catherall took over as the company’s CEO after divorcing her business partner, Tom. The restaurant group late last year shuttered Shout in Midtown and this year, shuttered its Perimeter Mall concept Goldfish and transformed its Noche outpost in Johns Creek into “Coast.”
H2SR’s portfolio includes Coast Buckhead, Coast Johns Creek, Noche Brookhaven, Noche Highlands, Noche Vinings, Prime, Shucks, Smash Strip, and Twist.
They posted on their website http://h2sr.com/index.html that H2sr is reorganizing. I still have unused gift cards with them. Need to use them in case they become worthless.
