Is a tavern made of ice called Melt opening in Buckhead?

The name is unconfirmed, but a bar mostly made of ice is coming soon.

Discovery of an ice bar opening late December in the Buckhead area, heated up Atlantan’s Twitter feeds Monday night.

John Kessler with the Atlanta Journal Constitution, was the first to tweet a link to a Craigslist posting seeking servers and bartenders for an “Eastern European” ice bar. An ice bar is a drinking establishment primarily made of ice. That includes the seats, folks. Burr.

But here’s where it gets wet: the posting neglects to include the concept’s name or address.

So What Now Atlanta skimmed through our records of recently filed building permits and discovered one for “Melt” at the Ritz Carlton Residences on Peachtree Road in Buckhead, filed with City of Atlanta in October. The estimated cost of construction is a chilling, $312,000.00.

An ice bar called “Melt?” Makes sense to us.

We contacted the owners of the Craigslist posting but they were not immediately available.
