Dervis Ozbey is looking to make a name for himself in the Atlanta-area pizza scene. With family at Alino Pizzeria, in The Mall of Georgia, Ozbey hopes his new restaurant, Itala Pizza will be a similar success.

“This has been my goal for a while,” he said.

The new Italian Neapolitan pizza spot will be going into Johns Creek Village, at 11720 Medlock Bridge Rd.

Going into former restaurant chain, Jason’s Deli, Ozbey thinks the nearly 5,000 square feet space will be a perfect fit for what he’s looking for.

He expected construction to take three to four months with an opening date sometime in the summer.

Made in wood fired ovens, customers will be able to watch as their pizza is being made through the glass, Ozbey said.

A similar set up at Alino Pizzeria, he thinks his experience will give him an edge as he’s ready to get off the ground and serve the pizza hungry shoppers of Johns Creek.
