J. Alexander’s is taking an 8,000-square-foot space at The Battery Atlanta, according to a release. The steak-and-seafood spot is targeting a spring 2026 opening at the development.
The concept, part of SPB Hospitality’s portfolio, currently has two other locations in Georgia: one in Peachtree Corners and one in Dunwoody. The location at The Battery Atlanta would mark the third for the brand in the state.
“Our arrival at one of Atlanta’s most iconic destinations reflects our commitment to delivering the quality, service and atmosphere that have defined our brand for decades,” Shawn Van Winkle, senior director of marketing at SPB Hospitality, said in the release. “The Battery Atlanta is where the city comes to dine, celebrate and connect — and we’re proud to contribute to that energy with our bold flavors, warm hospitality and elevated dining experience. We aim to become a go-to spot for locals, visitors and game-day crowds alike.”
The brand is also eyeing a spot in Peachtree City.
The menu features items like hand-cut steaks, prime rib, fresh seafood, sandwiches, a wine list and signature cocktails.
At The Battery Atlanta, J. Alexander’s will be located across from CRU Food & Wine Bar on Battery Walk. The new location will feature a sophisticated yet approachable atmosphere and will offer a private dining room for events.
“J. Alexander’s exemplifies the commitment to quality and hospitality that defines The Battery Atlanta,” Jeremy Strife, executive vice president, development of Braves Development Company, said in the release. “Its arrival adds to our diverse dining scene, offering a refined take on American cuisine that’s both distinctive and inviting.”
J. Alexander’s has locations across 15 states. The brand is part of SPB Hospitality, which acquired J. Alexander’s in 2021. Based in Houston, SPB Hospitality operates multiple restaurant brands including Krystal, Logan’s Roadhouse and Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom.
