Jia Restaurant Nearing Ponce City Market Opening

Plans this week were filed for final touches to the traditional Szechuan eatery.

Dahe Yang, the restauranteur behind Tasty China, is readying Jia in Ponce City Market (PCM) for its highly-delayed grand opening.

Originally slated to open its doors in January, the traditional Szechuan eatery was primed to be the first operating Central Food Hall restaurant.

But there’s still work to be done on the Jia space, a PCM employee confirmed in a telephone conversation with What Now Atlanta (WNA) Wednesday.

Plans Tuesday were filed with City of Atlanta to construct a bar for the forthcoming restaurant in the Old Fourth ward mixed-use development, one of the last steps in completing the space.

Jia should open at the end of June, early July which could still earn the restaurant its title as “first” PCM restaurant in operation.

  • There is NO way this spot is opening by the end of June. I walk past it once a week or so for deliveries and the interior is still barely touched. August at the earliest…
