Kathleen Hulsey is preparing to open a third location of her namesake brand, according to Kathleen’s Catch Fresh Fish Market rep Kitsy Rose. The Brookhaven location for the company — founded in 2011 with a Johns Creek outpost (pictured above) — will open next month.
This third location of Kathleen’s Catch in Brookhaven will be located at 3436 Clairmont Road in the Skyland shopping center, open daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The target opening date is mid-January 2021. Hulsey found herself continuously frustrated being unable to find fresh fish at the grocery stores. Her research and leap of faith paid off as she opened a second location in Milton in 2015.
Mike, Hulsey’s husband, has been in the business of seafood for about four decades. Hulsey’s daughter, Sara, helps out by running the Milton location. “She was already extremely knowledgeable,” Hulsey said in a prepared statement. “Typically dinner conversations revolved around food — where it was from, issues in the industry, and all things seafood as my children were growing up, making Sara a natural in joining our venture.”
“We may be landlocked, but we are fortunate to live in a city with the ‘world’s busiest airport’ and pretty much in the middle of Interstate-75 running from Miami to Maine,” Hulsey said. “Our location enables us to obtain the freshest products within hours of coming off of the boat. It is almost as fresh as if you were on the dock and caught it yourself.”
