UPDATE (July 22, 2019): ‘Top Chef’ Kevin Gillespie To Open Cold Beer in Edge on The Beltline July 23

Plans for Cold Beer, a new restaurant from Chef Kevin Gillespie in Old Fourth Ward’s Edge on The Beltline, are moving forward.

A permit application earlier this month was submitted to the City of Atlanta to build out the 9,198-square-foot restaurant, at 670 DeKalb Avenue.

An estimated $1,700,000 will be spent constructing Cold Beer including a rooftop patio, one of three Beltline-facing patios planned for the space.

Mercedes O’Brien, beverage director for sister concept Gunshow, will oversee Cold Beer’s beverage program which sits at the focus of the forthcoming concept.

O’Brien will bring her “innovative cocktails” to the new restaurant coupled with 12 to 22 American beers on draft.

On the menu will be shared small plates which will pair well with the space’s communal seating.

Cold Beer is one of several restaurants planned for Edge.

Burger chain Shake Shack recently filed plans for its location in the Old Fourth Ward development and Revelator Coffee is opening a wine and coffee bar called Hazel Jane’s.

Edge, slated to open in mid-2019, will also be home to 350 apartments.
