Communion, a seasonal beer garden in the backyard of Chef Kevin Gillespie’s Revival in Decatur, is reopening September 8.
Starting Saturday, Communion will be open on the weekends through Sunday, November 25.
“There’s something so satisfying about getting together with friends and family outdoors in the crisp fall weather,” Gillespie said in a press release Tuesday.
“It’s also the time of year to enjoy all the football action on TV, so combining those two things is the ultimate for me. We want Communion to be that go-to gathering spot for catching up over a beer and a casual meal or enjoying a good football game. I know that’s where I plan to be cheering on the Dawgs and the Falcons.”
Communion, at 129 Church Street, will be open every Saturday and Sunday rain or shine starting at noon.
Food and drinks are available for purchase from the backyard food truck, and the menu includes a variety of Springer Mountain Farms chicken wings (hot, mild, lemon pepper and barbecue), chicken tenders, fried chicken salad, and French fries.
The beverage selection includes craft beers, a small list of wines and a weekly rotating cocktail.
The shaded bar area at Communion features two new televisions for football and the yard offers a spot to play cornhole.
So excited for Communion!!!!!!!! I have had several fantastic experiences and cannot wait to go back! Great idea and thank you!
