King Barbecue is keeping its promise to open “a new set of doors in early 2019” following the closure of its lone Alpharetta location.
Savi Provisions’ newish Buckhead market, at 308 Pharr Road, will soon be home to the BBQ restaurant, according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.
A deal between King Barbecue’s Shaun Doty and Savi’s Paul Nair was struck Wednesday.
King Barbecue will keep its independence but share a kitchen with Savi.
In doing so, the BBQ joint will scale back its menu removing fried sides, salads, and soups, focusing on its smoked meats and seasonal sides.
Doty is aiming to open ahead of the Super Bowl on February 3.
Savi in late-2018 opened a rooftop restaurant in its Buckhead market called Rise and Revelry.
But the concept never got off the ground and closed its doors late last year.
King Barbecue won’t be replacing Rise and Revelry, according to the AJC.
Instead, “Nair is currently in negotiations with a group to re-concept that dining space.”
