KOHO is preparing to bring its kolache-centered concept to 881 Marietta, according to a recently filed business license. The brand comes from Randy Hazelton, one of the co-founders behind local hospitality group H&H Hospitality, which operates locations for Shake Shack, Vino Volo and Boar’s Head Cafe.
Plans for Hazelton to bring a concept to the space have been in the works for a while. KOHO filed a permit for renovations to the space earlier this summer, detailing plans for minor renovations to the existing 1,600-square-foot restaurant space.
KOHO currently has a location at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The fast-casual concept is based around the kolache, a Czech-Texan pastry. The menu offered in the airport offers a variety of filling options, ranging from savory items like cheese to sweet items like peach cobbler.
However, details regarding the menu for the new location remain largely unknown. It is unclear how much of the menu at the airport will carry over to the West Midtown location. The business license listed that the forthcoming restaurant will serve Korean cuisine, though details regarding how that would be incorporated into the concept are unclear.
An online job listing for the brand describes the forthcoming Marietta location as its Westside flagship that will act as a model for future KoHo stores.
As of now, an exact opening timeline for the location is still to come. Tomorrow’s News Today Atlanta previously reported that they expect a fall opening.
