Louisiana-based seafood joint Krab Queenz is expanding to Atlanta.

It will open in place of the now-shuttered Gladys Knight’s Chicken and Waffles Downtown as early as late-April, 2019.

Kwaylon Rogers, an Instagrammer with nearly 4 million followers better known as Blame It On Kway, is a partner on the forthcoming Krab Queenz.

Rogers confirmed the plans in a telephone conversation with What Now Atlanta.

He was not immediately available to share additional details.

The most recent movement on the project was an Alcohol License application that was submitted to the City of Atlanta for Krab Queenz in early-March.

Its current status is “failed.”

An Instagram page has been reserved for the restaurant.

It already has nearly 2,000 followers.

The restaurant is known for its seafood, specifically, its crab and shrimp served by the plate or pound.

Flavor-infused butter like honey garlic and spicy are available for dipping.

Side dishes include corn, potatoes, and sausage.

Its beverage program consists of punch and daiquiris.

Rogers opened his first location in Houston at the end of 2018.

Krab Queenz in Dallas and Los Angeles are in the works, Rogers said in an interview at the end of 2018.

  • West Peachtree ?? I thought this was on Peachtree across from Emory Midtown. The interior is going to be carefully sanitized – as I doubt that Gladys’ son left it in a clean condition, considering their health department citations. The urban camper who lives in the front doorway will need to be evicted also.
