Local chain La Parrilla is bringing a new location to Sharpsburg next year, with plans to open a nearly 6,900-square-foot restaurant at 130 Fischer Marketplace Lane. Juan Henao, vice president at La Parrilla, shared in a recent interview with What Now Atlanta that construction is ongoing and the team plans to open the spot in March.

The brand has been expanding in the area, with another restaurant on the way to Buckhead. That location is expected to open in summer 2026.

La Parrilla launched in 1989 in Marietta, bringing classic Mexican dishes such as enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, bowls, nachos, burritos and seafood to the Atlanta food scene. The brand currently has 19 locations in Georgia as well as one in Greenville, South Carolina, and Dothan, Ala.

The forthcoming Sharpsburg and Buckhead locations will usher in further expansion as Henao and his team look outward toward other states. Since they already have locations in South Carolina and Alabama, Henao hopes to expand in those states next. At all of their locations, the team aims to keep the same La Parrilla atmosphere alive.

“At the end of the day, we understand that a restaurant is a restaurant because of the people that work in the restaurants, the people who are serving and making the food,” Henao said. “So we’re going to bring people from different restaurants to help us open this new location and to create the same atmosphere that we have been doing for the past 31 years.”

The La Parrilla team is also opening a new location of Casi Cielo along the Beltline in January.
