Las Delicias de La Abuela Heads to Alpharetta

With locations already open in Duluth and Doraville, Las Delicias de La Abuela now has its sights set on Alpharetta. Owner Jhonny Acosta confirmed plans for an outpost at 4055 Old Milton Parkway, saying the restaurant will likely open in March of this year.

Las Delicias de La Abuela translates to “Grandma’s Delights,” and Acosta’s restaurant serves authentic Colombian cuisine honoring the tradition of “the grandmothers [who] prepared the most delicious dishes in an artisanal way,” using a clay pot and wooden spoon over a charcoal stove.

Home-style menu items include everything from empanadas de carne and fried plantains to Country Chicken, Smoked Pork Ribs, and Casserole La Abuela. There are weekend specials and grilled plates on the menu as well as large entrees, and the cocktail program surely does not disappoint. In addition to artisanal margaritas (you can even order a flight of them), you can find mojitos, piña coladas, and palomas, just to name a few.  

According to lease intel obtained by What Now Atlanta, the eatery will operate out of a roughly 3,000 square-foot retail space in the shopping center that houses Smallcakes of Alpharetta and Peace Love and Pizza.

The team behind Las Delicias de La Abuela also operates Crepes y Fresas, which serves sweet and savory crepes from the Duluth location in the Pleasant Hill Plaza shopping center on Pleasant Hill Road.
