A local cake company is working on its first permanent space.
Key’s Cakery is planned for a 549-square-foot space in Snellville at Towne Center Market. Key’s Cakery specializes in cakes, cupcakes and other handcrafted sweet treats.
This will be the first brick-and-mortar space for the mobile business that has been serving the community cake slices, chocolate bars, fresh lemonade and more from a trailer in the Snellville area. Custom cakes and other desserts (like cake pops and “cake-sicles”) are also available to order online.
Owner Kierra Mays told What Now Atlanta they hope to open Key’s Cakery in Snellville in late July or early August.
Construction documents indicate that Key’s Cakery will be located at 2245 Wisteria Drive. The dessert shop will be a tenant at Towne Center Market, an upcoming food hall and artisan market in downtown Snellville. Marketing materials for the food hall describe it as being a “an urban chic and industrial-vibe setting.” As previously reported by What Now Atlanta, Crooked Can Brewing Company is also in the works at the site.
