A local eatery that specializes in baked pasta dishes is cooking up some new locations.

Moreau’s Famous Macaroni is in the works in East Point. According to construction plans, the eatery would be going into the end space of a one-story commercial building at 3861 Washington Road, next to Elevate Her Beauty Suites.

According to the restaurant’s website, a location is also in the works in Covington, in addition to the East Point one. A Kite Realty site map indicates that Moreau’s Famous Macaroni is planned for a 1,833-square-foot space at a Kroger-anchored shopping center, next to the wings and burgers restaurant WNB Factory.

Moreau’s Famous Macaroni currently has locations in Jonesboro (10237 Tara Boulevard) and McDonough (874 Hampton Road). It was formerly called Moreau’s Oven.

The Moreau family macaroni business began in New York, specializing in baked pasta dishes and catering large events with recipes based on experimenting with flavors from different cultures. The Moreau’s Famous Macaroni brand was established in 2014, “introducing a new macaroni and cheese style by incorporating a Southern swag,” according to the website.

The menu includes a variety of inventive dishes, including a pizza-inspired pasta topped with pepperoni; seafood-driven pastas with cajun shrimp, lobster or crab with alfredo sauce; a burger-inspired pasta with ground beef, onions, tomatoes and pickles; and more. They also serve other items like pizza, wings and frozen lemonade.

The Moreau’s Famous Macaroni website says they are opening the new locations “in the coming months.”
