A spot in Statesboro is swapping sweet for savory.

A locally owned pizza shop called Holy Pie Pizzeria is coming soon to 355 Brampton Avenue. The 1,300-square-foot space was formerly occupied by gourmet cinnamon roll franchise Cinnaholic.

The new eatery joins several existing Holy Pie Pizzeria locations, which can be found in Middle Georgia and the Savannah market. Kendall Wilson and Olman Del Cid created the concept, opening the first location in Savannah in March 2021. The menu includes a variety of signature pizzas, like the Mac & Cheese Pizza and Honey BBQ Chicken Pizza. In addition to pies, the menu includes wings, wraps, salads, pasta and more.

“For the past 15 years, both Kendall and Olman have worked together helping other restaurant brands grow,” according to the company website. “They have a passion for people and success, so it only seemed natural that the business they talked about, so many years ago, would eventually happen.”

Wilson is also part of the team behind a gelato shop in Port Wentworth called Honey’s Homestyle Creamery.

Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group represented the seller in the transaction for the new Holy Pie Pizzeria in Statesboro.

The growth of Holy Pie Pizzeria isn’t stopping there; a location is also underway in Perry, and it’s expected to open in about two months.
