UPDATE (February 16, 2019): Chamblee’s Food Terminal Is Expanding To West Midtown
The Local Pizzaiolo in West Midtown and Toco Hills are for sale, and for a “fraction” of what it cost to open just earlier this year, according to the listings held with The Shumacher Group.
The pizzerias, at 1000 Marietta Street and 2941-B N Druid Hills Road NE, debuted in January and May respectively.
Locations planned for Sandy Springs and Reynoldstown have been canceled.
Owner Giulio Adriani, who lives out of state, is “selling to focus on growing another region of the country,” according to the listing.
Each restaurant is listed for sale at $325,000; a fraction of the $550,000 – $635,000 spent opening each location.
The purchase does not include The Local Pizzaiolo name, recipes, books, or records.
I LOVE Pizzaiolo and am so disappointed they are leaving Atlanta. One of our neighbors stopped by Monday night for dinner and asked about their closing. The employees hadn’t heard anything about it yet. The owner stepped in and said they hadn’t planned on telling their employees yet.
Really a shame that this incredible pizza spot is coming and going so quickly. Thank you Giulio for bringing your pizza to the Westside!
