Kevin Rathbun, the restaurateur behind Kevin Rathbun Steak, appears to be rekindling an old concept. Krog Bar, which formerly served wine and small plates on Krog Street, closed in 2020 alongside fellow restaurant Rathbun’s at the Stove Works in Inman Park.

Now, Krog Bar appears to be reemerging beside KR Steakbar located at 349 Peachtree Hills Avenue, but this iteration of the business seems to be a pizza bar concept and is slated to open later this summer, according to Tomorrow’s News Today Atlanta.

An alcohol license permit filed for the location in May indicated plans for a pizza bar extension to the existing KR Steakbar.

Krog Bar will take over a small space beside KR Steakbar, which has been open since 2013. The steakbar also houses The Bureau, a private speakeasy concept that Rathbun introduced to the spot about a decade ago. Rathbun also owns Kevin Rathburn Steak, which still operates on Krog Street.

As of now, details regarding the menu for the new Krog Bar remain largely unknown. Efforts to reach Rathbun prior to publication were unsuccessful.
