Cafe Efendi, located at 488 North Main Street, is rebranding to Efendi Mediterranean Restaurant after more than two decades in the Alpharetta community, according to a release. The rebrand features an updated logo, a modernization of the brand and a planned revamp at the restaurant.

“We always felt we were more than a cafe,” owner Yusuf Uludag told What Now Atlanta.

Cafe Efendi first opened its doors in 2004 along Roswell Street and has operated along North Main Street since 2011. Uludag, originally from Turkey, took over ownership of the restaurant in 2017 after working at Cafe Efendi for years.

“This restaurant has been a part of my life for many years, and I’ve always felt a deep responsibility to preserve its spirit while helping it evolve,” Uludag said in the release. “Alpharetta is home to us, and this rebrand is about honoring the past while building toward the future. We’re excited to share these updates with our guests — both longtime regulars and new visitors discovering us for the first time.”

The space features an approximately 100-seat upscale casual dining room, a 40-seat cocktail bar and hookah lounge, and an enclosed outdoor patio. Over the next year, Efendi Mediterranean Restaurant will undergo renovations that will include changes to the main dining room, bar area and enclosed patio. Changes will include new booths, seating, paint and artwork in the dining room. Renovations are expected to conclude by the end of 2026.

The new logo features a Mediterranean-inspired color scheme and marbled textures reflecting Ebru, a traditional Turkish paper marbling technique. The branding is designed to bring a fresh look to the concept while also pulling in its Turkish roots.

The menu features Mediterranean dishes such as hummus, kebabs, falafel and grilled seafood as well as Turkish specialties such as lahmacun, Iskender, house-made breads, Turkish tea and coffee, and traditional Turkish breakfast.

Uludag said this rebrand will push Efendi Mediterranean toward its goal to cater to the needs of the community.

“If they are looking for a nice full bar, they have it,” Uludag said. “If they are looking for a dining experience late at night, we are there for them. All the holidays, we are open. For 365 days, we are open and ready to serve our community. That’s our target.”
