UPDATE (August 24, 2018): The Lost Druid Brewery Set To Break Ground In Avondale Estates August 31.

A new craft brewery called The Lost Druid Brewery Co. is coming together drop by drop in Avondale Estates.

Brewmaster Rob Hopek is looking to launch the brewery in February 2018 with a groundbreaking scheduled for January.

Hopek has been perusing opening The Lost Druid Brewing Co. since as early as 2012 when the brewery was going to be in Johns Creek.

In early September Hopek and his team acquired a 0.65-acre piece of land, at 161 Pine Street, in the Central Business District of Avondale Estates for the project, according to a post on The Lost Druid Brewing Co.’s Facebook page.

“Can you taste the beer already,” Hopek said in the post.

The location sits a few blocks from Wild Heaven Beer, a craft brewery that debuted in 2014.

In mid-November, a site plan and elevation review by the City of Avondale Estates was completed for The Lost Druid Brewing Co.

On Thursday, Hopek updated the company’s Facebook page for more information on the project.

The concept will feature a “community-centric” taproom and a shareable/small plate-oriented kitchen, according to the social media page.

Hopek did not immediately respond to several attempts by What Now Atlant for comment.
