Lucky’s Burger and Brew quietly reopened its Emory Village location last week, Ernie Geyer, the restaurant’s owner Friday in a telephone interview told What Now Atlanta.

The dog-friendly restaurant, at 1569 N. Decatur Road, closed its doors earlier this year unexpectedly.

“We received overwhelming support from the community after we closed,” Geyer said. “Not to mention, the landlord made a concession on the rent as well because Lucky’s Burger fits in well with the neighborhood.”

Geyer had no choice but to shutter Lucky’s Burger in Emory Village for a myriad of reasons like “frustrations with parking” and slow periods due to Emory University closing down for the summer and holidays, among other things.

“We reduced the menu and have been more frugal.”

Geyer also brought on lifelong friend and Thumbs Up Diner Founder, Lou Locricchio to the Lucky’s Burger team.

“It’s a good concept and people like it. We just needed to refocus and reorganize. We’re going to make another run at it.”

Lucky’s Burger has locations in Roswell and Brookhaven.
