Hacienda Vieja, a newish Mexican restaurant near SunTrust Stadium, has been purchased by the owners of Madras Chettinaad and Madras Mantra.

The space, at 2349 Windy Hill Rd SE #120, will be converted into a yet-to-be-named Indian eatery.

Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group, Inc. represented the seller and guided the buyers—husband and wife Narendra and Sonal Patel—to closing.

The Patels are still developing the concept that will open in Hacienda Vieja’s place, Narendra in an email late-Thursday told What Now Atlanta.

“I will update you once we have a concept,” he said.

Situated in Marietta, the 5,000-square-foot space won’t require much work during the conversion.

$500,000 was recently spent on Hacienda Vieja’s build out before the restaurant opened in April 2017 including new HVAC, grease trap, a draft beer system, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

Currently, the space offers 292 seats, a 25-person bar, and outdoor dining.

It’s unclear why the plug was pulled on the year-and-a-half-old Hacienda Vieja.

A location in Woodstock will remain open.
