Popular restaurant chain Shake Shack is opening its tenth location in Georgia. A first in Athens, the new location includes a drive-thru for customers’ convenience. The new location is set to open next month at 161 Alps Road, Athens.

Features of the New Location

The Athens location will offer both in-store and drive-thru services to guests arriving at the restaurant. Its drive-thru features a digital menu and a one-lane ordering system, offering convenience and ease for visitors. The restaurant will open from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Opening Day Celebrations

The new location is set to open on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. The brand is offering custom Shake Shack swag to guests on opening day. The occasion will also include a special appearance from UGA’s mascot, Hairy Dawg.
As part of its ‘Stand for Something Good’ initiative, the company will donate $1 for every sandwich sold on opening day. Proceeds will benefit the Foodbank of Northeast Georgia.
