Simply Done Donuts to Close After Years Serving Mini Favorites

Simply Done Donuts launched in 2015 as a mobile donut truck serving Atlanta-area food festivals. Founders Karissa and Joey Tuttle opened their first brick-and-mortar location in 2017, expanding the menu to include sundaes and coffee. The recent announcement of the closure made on social media marks the end of the eatery’s 9-year run.

The owners shared the reasons for the closure in a recent Instagram post. “After 9 unforgettable years in Duluth, we have decided to finally close our doors. JULY 30TH will be our last day. The struggles of navigating COVID, rising costs, and the relentless challenge of keeping this dream alive with little reward have made it unsustainable to continue,” the official page read.

Expressing their gratitude, the owners emphasized that Simply Done Donuts will continue operating its donut trucks and catering services. “We are deeply grateful for our incredible community and dedicated team who made this part of our journey possible,” they said.

“Both Joe and I have been on the same page about this decision for a while & the best part is we are still going to be running our donut trucks & making large catering orders for those special moments! So not completely gone but refocusing where it makes sense for our lil biz & allows us to get back to enjoying life,” they continued.

The post ended with a request for customers to share their favorite memories for a community memory book. The post was met with an outpouring of love and support from the eatery’s longtime customers.

While the Duluth storefront is closing, Simply Done Donuts will continue operating its trucks and catering service.
