New York Times-recognized MidCity, which serves as a staple of Atlanta’s cocktail scene, has a new concept in the works for West Midtown. Omma will join Westside Paper, taking a nearly 5,000-square-foot space at 950 West Marietta St. NW, according to a release. Co-owner Bobi Stevkovski confirmed the plans with What Now Atlanta.
Omma’s name stems from the sacred sound OM, an ancient vibrational tone believed to be the first sound in the universe. The name is meant to represent creation, unity and the energy that connects everything. The space is designed to embody where sound, flavor and human connection unite.
MidCity has been part of the Midtown scene since it reopened in 2017, serving cocktails and small plates. Omma will offer an expansion of the MidCity menu, featuring a full internationally inspired food program with clean ingredients. Omma will build on MidCity’s cocktail program, focusing on innovative techniques and presentations. Music will also play a major role in shaping the atmosphere of the space.
Bobi Stevkovski, Goran Stevkovski, Jose Pereiro and Justin Hong are the team behind the spot. Bobi will serve as Omma’s creative and music director; Goran will serve as director of hospitality and oversee day-to-day operations; Pereiro will serve as beverage director; and Hong, will serve as director of finance.
Omma has filed permits for construction to the single-story restaurant with a mezzanine.
Omma is not the only new concept to join the development. Westside Paper recently received Carbon Performance, which opened at the mixed-use development this fall, as well as a 50,000-square-foot flagship showroom by Construction Resources and a 13,000-square-foot venue from Proof of the Pudding, the largest catering company in the city.
