UPDATE (November 5, 2018): Scope The Menu For Mihoko’s Method Bone Broth, Now Open In Irwin Street Market

Jake’s Ice Cream in The Irwin Street Market will soon share space with Mihoko’s Method Bone Broth.

Chef Mihoko Obunai will open the cafe-like bone broth concept in the Beltline-adjacent development late-September, Obunai told What Now Atlanta in a telephone interview Thursday.

“Making broth is my obsession,” Obunai said.

“Every broth comes out differently. It’s not like buying broth at the store that’s made in a factory and not by the human hand. I want to share my beautiful bone broth with Atlanta.”

The chef, formerly of Nexto, will serve four types of broth at Mihoko’s Method Bone Broth: beef with 100 percent Georgia grass-fed beef, chicken with 100 percent organic chicken and turkey, a vegan option with organic vegetables, and a dog-friendly remouillage to “support your dog’s immune system.”

“Dogs need nutrition too, and people really love their pets, so I thought this would be a great idea,” Obunai said.

Broth will be available to consume at a counter or to-go in 12-ounce cups or pre-frozen quart-sized containers.

While there won’t be table service, there is WiFi and guests are encouraged to “enjoy bone broths for hours.”

Dog treats, using the broth scraps (bones, meats, veggies, etc.), could eventually be added to the menu.
