Miami-based franchise Mister O1 has a new location in the works for the Atlanta market. The pizza brand currently has two locations open in the Atlanta area — one in Buckhead and another in Sandy Springs. Now, local franchisees have inked a lease for a location at Inman Square at 299 North Highland Avenue, according to Tomorrow’s News Today Atlanta. It is taking over the space where Char closed earlier this year.
Mister O1 opened its first Georgia location in Sandy Springs earlier this year, helmed by local franchisees Miguel Blatt, Brandon Weitz and Daniel Scala. In addition to the Atlanta locations, Mister O1 has 23 locations in Florida and six in Texas.
Chef Renato Viola founded the brand after immigrating to the U.S. from Southern Italy. While in Italy, he apprenticed with some of Italy’s best pizza chefs. When he came to the U.S., he traveled under the O1 Visa category for “Extraordinary Artistic Ability” — hence the name of the pizza brand he founded, Mister O1.
The pizzas are made with locally-sourced or Italian-sourced ingredients and are served with a thin crust and light dough. Menu items include Hawaiian pizza, meat lovers, Vittoria (which includes roasted chicken, Italian parmesan and basil) and Riccardo (with mushrooms, zucchini, spinach and a roasted red pepper puree). There are also “extraordinary” pizzas available, some of which are star-shaped, as well as dessert options like nutella pizza and a vegan hazelnut chocolate pizza.
As of now, an opening timeline remains unclear.
