After less than a year in business, Revelator Coffee’s The Mourning Dove Cafe quietly closed its doors over the weekend, according to a press release Tuesday.

The all-day cafe’s last day in The Shops Buckhead Atlanta was Saturday, September 2.

The Mourning Dove first opened in December 2017 replacing Corso Coffee.

But The Mourning Dove isn’t gone for good.

Instead, the closure is part of the company’s plan to relocate to an undisclosed location on the Westside under the direction of Chef Andrea Kirshtein.

“My staff is incredible, and we’re all super excited to bring this concept to more people,” Kirshtein said in the release.

“We’ll keep everyone posted on the timing for our new Westside spot.”

A re-opening schedule will be announced, “in the near future.”

It’s unclear what, if anything, is set to replace the cafe in Buckhead.

Representatives for The Shops Buckhead Atlanta Tuesday did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.

  • We don’t need Revelator branded coffee on the westside. We already have some.
    Thanks.
Maybe a Revelator branded tire shop. That’d be good.
Eyeglasses shops are also in. Maybe do a Warby Parker knock-off?
