My Fair Sweets, a boutique bakery and cake supply retailer, is opening a location downtown in late spring or early summer. The bakery creates custom cakes and trendy, one-of-a-kind treats. Kandace Marie started My Fair Sweets in 2011, but due to COVID-19 had to permanently closed her previous Mall location.

The downtown location will be on Nelson St. SW, Kandace confirmed in a phone call with What Now Atlanta on Thursday. Although she wouldn’t reveal the shop’s exact location, she said it will be near Mercedes-Benz Stadium and would serve all downtown customers. It will serve as the My Fair Sweets flagship location and offer a full shake bar, cakes, and food.

She has been working on securing the downtown location for most of 2020. “I sat down quietly for 2020, but now I’m making all the noise,” Marie told What Now Atlanta. “I’m ready. It’s a long time coming.” There’s a lot happening all at once, she added.

A soft opening for another new location, 110 N Avondale Rd., in Avondale Estates, will be held Saturday. The event will feature ice cream, fun, and the CoComelon mascot.

The Avondale shop will fully open next week. This shop will primarily offer extravagant, “over-the-top” shakes and sweets. It may have food at a later date, depending on the need in the area, Marie said.

My Fair Sweets currently has an open location at 2997 Cumberland Blvd SE, Suite 200.
