A new restaurant is planned for southwest Atlanta.

A business called Smack’n is proposed for 2387 Fairburn Road SW, according to a building permit application with the City of Atlanta.

The 4,400-square-foot space used to be a restaurant called Abdullah The Butcher. According to the application, the scope of work on the space includes repairing some cooking equipment, relocating the bar, renovating and expanding the restrooms, painting the interior and exterior, and more.

Construction documents indicate that Smack’n could be a late-night spot, with operating hours expected to be 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday.

The restaurant would include indoor seating for 83 people, including a 25-person bar and an eight-person private dining area. An outdoor patio with room for 21 diners is also planned.

Ownership for Smack’n could not be reached for more information about the restaurant or its menu.
