The acclaimed team behind New York bars The Dead Rabbit and The Irish Exit have a project heading to Atlanta. The team will bring The Irish Exit to a 4,735-square-foot space in the Entertainment District at Centennial Yards, according to a release. This location will mark the group’s first location for The Irish Exit outside of New York City.
The Irish Exit offers a contemporary Irish pub concept. Its first location launched in 2023 in Penn Station to serve as an all-day Irish pub, offering modern Irish food, drinks, music and culture. The beverage program features pints, spirits, cocktails and zero-proof cocktails.
“The Irish Exit exemplifies the kind of bold, hospitality-forward concepts we’re bringing to Centennial Yards,” Brian McGowan, president of Centennial Yards Company, said in the release. “The Dead Rabbit team has redefined modern Irish hospitality on a global scale, and their decision to plant roots in Atlanta speaks volumes about the city’s rising stature as a cultural and entertainment destination.”
The Centennial Yards location will offer an indoor-outdoor layout with garage-style doors.
The Dead Rabbit Group launched in 2013 when Belfast native Jack McGarry co-founded The Dead Rabbit in the Financial District of Manhattan. In 2024, The Dead Rabbit expanded to Austin, Texas. The group centers its concepts around “tradition meets tomorrow,” focusing on merging classic Irish hospitality with modern elements.
“We’re excited to bring The Irish Exit to Atlanta and to be part of the incredible energy that Centennial Yards is building,” McGarry said in the release. “Our mission has always been to showcase modern Irish culture and the Ireland of today — one that honors its roots while looking forward — and Atlanta’s Centennial Yards gives us the perfect platform to share that spirit with new guests.”
Centennial Yards is a $5 billion, 50-acre mixed-use redevelopment that also has other food and beverage concepts slated to join it. Khao Thai Isan from the 26 Thai team will also join the development. Plans for Centennial Yards include 4 million square feet of retail, entertainment, office and hotel space, as well as 2,000 new residences.
